I always like to close all the open applications to quickly power off my system. Since I rarely reboot my desktop, I manually close each application. Depending on the number of open applications this can be a waste of time.
The people at NTWind Software developed a good utility for this situation called Close All Windows. Instead of manually closing each application just click the Close All Windows shortcut on your taskbar. To get started with Closeall Software, you need to download the latest version of Close All utility. This utility doesn't need to install, it needs direct run. Steps to configure: Download the ZIP archive and extract it somewhere on your hard drive. Open the extracted folder, right-click CloseAll.exe and choose Send To -> Desktop (create shortcut) from the context menu. Now you can drag this shortcut to the Quick Launch Bar or to the Windows 7 Taskbar for quick access. After getting it on taskbar, just single click on it and all your Open application will be closed at once. That's all friends, its done.
